A sweet, crunchy mix of apples, pretzels, caramel, and gelatin chilled for a perfect potluck delight.
# Components:
→ Pretzel Crust
01 - 2 cups salted pretzels, crushed
02 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
03 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
→ Filling
04 - 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
05 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
06 - 8 ounces whipped topping, thawed
→ Apple Jello Layer
07 - 6 ounces apple-flavored gelatin powder
08 - 2 cups boiling water
09 - 1 1/2 cups cold water
10 - 2 medium apples, chopped (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp preferred)
→ Caramel Drizzle
11 - 1/3 cup store-bought caramel sauce, plus extra for garnish
# Directions:
01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar in a bowl. Press mixture firmly into the base of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes and allow to cool completely.
02 - Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth in a large bowl. Gently fold in whipped topping until well incorporated. Spread mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust, sealing edges to prevent gelatin seepage. Refrigerate while preparing gelatin.
03 - Dissolve apple gelatin powder in boiling water, stirring for 2 minutes until fully dissolved. Add cold water and let cool to room temperature, approximately 20 to 25 minutes.
04 - Stir chopped apples into the cooled gelatin mixture. Pour gently over the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until fully set.
05 - Drizzle caramel sauce over the top before serving. Optionally garnish with extra pretzel pieces and apple slices. Slice and serve chilled.
