02 - 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

05 - 2 tbsp chopped toasted walnuts or pecans (optional)

# Directions:
01 - Set the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Place the thawed puff pastry sheet onto the prepared baking sheet and position the Brie wheel in the center.
03 - Spread the fig jam evenly across the top surface of the Brie.
04 - If desired, sprinkle chopped toasted nuts and fresh thyme leaves over the fig jam layer.
05 - Fold the pastry edges up and over the cheese, pleating as necessary to enclose it fully; pinch seams to seal securely.
06 - Brush the exterior of the pastry with the beaten egg to promote a golden, glossy crust.
07 - Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the pastry is puffed and a deep golden brown.
08 - Allow to rest for 10 minutes before transferring to a serving platter; serve warm accompanied by crackers or sliced baguette.
