Air Fryer Apple Chips (Print Version)

Sweet, crisp apple chips with cinnamon sugar made quickly using an air fryer.

# Components:

→ Apples

01 - 2 large apples (Fuji or Honeycrisp variety), crisp type

→ Cinnamon Sugar

02 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
03 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

→ Optional

04 - Olive oil spray or nonstick cooking spray

# Directions:

01 - Wash apples thoroughly, remove cores, and slice thinly to approximately 1/8-inch thickness. Peeling is not required.
02 - Combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small mixing bowl and whisk until evenly distributed.
03 - Lightly coat the air fryer basket with oil spray if additional crispness is desired.
04 - Place apple slices in a single layer within the air fryer basket, working in batches as necessary to avoid overcrowding.
05 - Distribute cinnamon sugar mixture evenly across all apple slices.
06 - Set air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and cook for 7 to 8 minutes. Monitor progress during cooking to prevent burning.
07 - Flip apple slices and continue air frying for an additional 5 to 7 minutes until chips achieve golden color and desired crispness. Check frequently for doneness.
08 - Transfer cooked chips to a wire rack to cool completely. Chips will continue crisping as they cool.
09 - Repeat the entire process with remaining apple slices until all apples are processed.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • They're genuinely crispy—not chewy or soggy like homemade versions can be—and the air fryer does all the work while you do something else.
  • Your kitchen will smell incredible, and you'll feel like you actually made something special from basically nothing.
02 -
  • Thickness matters more than you'd think—too thick and they stay chewy inside, too thin and they burn before they cook through, so aim for that 1/8-inch sweet spot.
  • Don't skip the cooling step on the wire rack because that's when the magic happens and they transform from soft-edged to truly crispy.
03 -
  • Uniform slicing genuinely changes everything—invest in a cheap mandoline slicer if you make these regularly and your wrist will thank you.
  • That moment right when they come out of the air fryer is when they're still slightly warm and crispy, so grab a few to test before they completely cool, because that's the true peak.
